Diabetes Scholarships

The costs of treating diabetes and its complications can be a considerable financial burden – add to that the costs of paying for college, and certain diabetic students may find it financially infeasible to attend college. According to the American Diabetes Association, roughly 29 million Americans have diabetes. Fortunately, there are specific foundations dedicated to supporting the academic endeavors of students with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. While scholarships may vary in eligibility and requirements, there are a number of scholarships available to those diagnosed with diabetes. Scholarships are intended to honor and reward those who successfully manage and cope with the challenges of living with diabetes, and who wish to pursue a college education. Below is a list of organizations who are devoted to help diabetic students afford an education. Feel free to review them and determine whether they are a fit for you. AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability

Aimee Melissa Davis Scholarship

  • The Aimee Melissa Davis Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from a Travis or Williamson County, Texas high school living with insulin dependent diabetes.

    Scholarship funds are made for tuition and related educational expenses and are paid directly to the educational institution.
